Guangzhou in southern China is famously known in the country and with frequent travellers as the city of flowers. There are indeed a lot of flowers throughout the city, including adorning what would otherwise be drab road crossings.
But if you take a look around the city at night, the colours really light up.
And it’s not the lit flower gardens, but the vast array of lit buildings.
The flowers look lovely, but as the “third” city often struggling for air-time with its larger siblings (Beijing and Shanghai), the City of Light label could provide much greater cut-through!
