Smarter eating for growing cities

An impossible hamburger would be one that is 100% made from plants right? Well, it’s not impossible.

The Impossible Foods company based in San Francisco is making these now. And Bill Gates has put $100M in the company.

The Centre for Liveable Cities in Singapore held a “summit” on the future of food – given that if the world population hits 9 billion by 2050 as expected we will need 70% greater food production.

Growth is causing greater demand, but it is also affecting future supply.

The answers, from a food perspective?

Food made from food waste, alternative food (insects), cloned food, and food we know made from plants.

Our “tastes” may have to adapt in some cases. But new global citizens seem destined to grow up on very different diet to today.
