The Singapore Government’s Committee on the Future Economy report is driving the country’s next phase of growth.
This government led central planning is undertaken/updated every 5-6 years and provides a very strong and quite focussed plan for government, business and the wider Singapore community.
Seven key strategies underpin the report and they were immediately incorporated into the annual budget presented in Parliament the following week.
Digital and enterprise capabilities, strengthening international connections and partnerships and implementing industry transformation “maps” are key elements of the future economy direction.
The ability to undertake this kind of forward planning activity is an attribute of Singapore’s style of government.
