It was both absorbing and draining to spend a day with the ASEAN Smart Cities Network. It’s comprised of 26 cities across the 10 ASEAN countries who have been selected to fast-track new smart projects.
This is one of the key initiatives of Singapore’s, of course, during its year as Chair of ASEAN.
I was with the New Zealand delegation, representing the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce. We spent several hours listening to representes present their 2 or 3 priority projects and then had half a day in “one-on-one” conversations exploring ways our country’s businesses might assist.
The network meets again in July to look at progress.
